George Hansen, senior industry research analyst, A.M. Best, will
participate in a panel discussion at the 2018 SOA Valuation Actuary
Symposium, August 26–28, 2018, in Washington, D.C.

The panel, titled, "NAIC Capital Regulatory and A.M. Best BCAR Updates,"
will take place on Monday, August 27, at 1:30 p.m. (EDT). The presenters
will discuss the latest changes to requirements made by the NAIC Capital
Regulatory (E) Task Force, along with A.M. Best's latest stochastic, Best's
Capital Adequacy Ratio
(BCAR) capital changes, enacted in October
2017. Attendees will learn why, under the new model, asset allocation
will need to address the relative risk-adjusted returns, not just the
relative capital charges, under various asset classes under a holistic
asset optimization framework.
