Background:

 

 

The two million-member American Legion, the world's largest
veterans' organization, is holding its 100th National Convention
in Minneapolis. Fighting for the benefits of our nation's military
veterans and their families is a top priority of The American
Legion, as is standing up for American values. A grassroots
organization with 13,000 Legion posts around the world, The
American Legion is our nation's preeminent voice for veterans on
Capitol Hill. National Commander Rohan, a U.S. Army veteran, is
the first woman to be elected to the top position of The American
Legion.
