Students Return to Online Public School on August 20

Students at Colorado
Preparatory Academy
(CPA), an accredited online public school, will
begin their 2018-19 school year on August 20, simply by turning on the
computer. CPA is available to students statewide in kindergarten through
12th grade.

CPA is public school at home, providing families and students an
alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar education. Students enroll
in online school for a variety of reasons, including advanced learning,
a bullying-free environment and the ability to balance their education
with extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. Combining innovative
technology with a rigorous curriculum led by state-certified teachers,
CPA offers each student a personalized learning experience.

CPA specializes in programs designed specifically for advanced learners.
College-minded students can choose from a broad range of courses in
order to gain a competitive edge for the future and discover their path
after high school. CPA also gives students the opportunity to earn
college credit while still in high school through concurrent enrollment
and offers a post-secondary preparedness program that ensures students
attending the school are prepared for college.

"Enrolling my daughter in Colorado Preparatory Academy has been one of
the best decisions we could have made for our family," said Mary
Reyes-Remines, whose daughter, Marya, is a state champion archer
entering seventh grade at CPA. "The personalized education is tailored
to her levels, needs and interests, which affords the opportunity for
her to dedicate more time to her sport. In addition, the online setting
allows me to be deeply involved in her education as her learning coach."

Students in all grade levels take a full course load across the core
subjects of English/language arts, math, science and history, as well as
world languages, art and music. Advanced Placement® courses
are offered for high school students.

CPA's dedicated teachers facilitate lessons during live, interactive
online classes, and interact with students and families via phone,
email, web-based classrooms and online discussions, building close
partnerships with parents and students to support academic success. The
online platform enables students to enjoy a safe learning environment
while connecting with classmates and teachers from across the state.

Throughout the school year, CPA builds a sense of community through
in-person field trips, social outings and service learning
opportunities. CPA also celebrates the end of the school year with an
in-person prom and honors graduating seniors with an in-person
commencement ceremony in the spring, and virtual clubs and student
organizations allow students to further explore their interests in the
online setting.

CPA is currently accepting enrollments for the fall. Interested families
are encouraged to attend online information sessions hosted by the
school. To learn more, visit cpa.k12.com
