Clearsurance Users Identify the Top 10 States with the Most and Least Happy Car Insurance Policyholders

Clearsurance,
the leading independent publisher of insurance consumer data, released a
list of the top 10 states with the most and least happy car insurance
policyholders.

By analyzing consumer review and rating submissions published on its web
application, from January 1, 2017 through May 31, 2018, Clearsurance
found that West
Virginia
rules as the happiest state according to its auto insurance
policyholders. Users from the state provided an average rating of 4.44
stars out of 5 for their insurance companies. West
Virginia
was also recently named
the happiest state
for homeowners insurance policyholders by the
Clearsurance community. Insurance seems to be working well for residents
of West Virginia.

At the other end of the scale, Nevada
car insurance policyholders gave the lowest average rating of 4.16
stars. Clearsurance data shows several factors that contribute to these
results, such as claims service and rate increases by state. In Nevada,
20 percent of drivers received a rate increase over 10 percent in 2017,
compared to West Virginia where 73 percent of car insurance
policyholders received a rate decrease in 2017, according to S&P Global
Market Intelligence.

Consumer ratings take into account several data points including a
customer's overall experience with their insurer, its service, their
likelihood to renew with the company, and their likelihood to recommend
their insurer to a friend.

To achieve a spot in any state ranking insurance companies needed to
have at least 100 independent customer car insurance reviews from
Clearsurance users in their state during the timeframe noted – seven
states were not eligible for inclusion. Gain more
