Wyoming Selects MicroPact for MMIS Care/Case Management Module

Share:

MicroPact today announced that its entellitrak® case
management platform has been selected by Wyoming Department of Health
(WDH) as the Care/Case Management System (CCMS) module for its Medicaid
Management Information Systems (MMIS) modernization project. Known as
WINGS (for Wyoming Integrated Next Generation System), the project spans
an extensive array of systems, service components, and modules that will
replace the state's aging and siloed MMIS infrastructure. Consistent
with Wyoming's pioneering MMIS-as-a-service approach, the Care/Case
Management module will be hosted by MicroPact.

The WINGS program is managed by the WDH, Division of Healthcare
Financing, which brings Wyoming's public healthcare programs together
under one umbrella to better serve eligible citizens. By taking a
modular approach to MMIS modernization, Wyoming will utilize
cutting-edge technologies in an effort to make use of up to 90% federal
financial participation funding for design, development, and deployment
of each module – ensuring that Wyoming's money stretches as far as it
can.

The entellitrak-based CCMS will manage functions relating to Home and
Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs. Under HCBS waivers,
states can provide services to eligible beneficiaries who prefer to
receive long-term care services and supports in their home or community.

"Wyoming is being really smart in its hybrid approach to the
modernization and hosting of its Medicaid systems," said Stephanie
Kuhnel, VP of MicroPact's Health, Human Services, and Benefits team.
"The updated rules and incentives from the Centers for Medicare &
Medicaid Services (CMS) incentivize states to seek out IT solutions like
entellitrak that are more flexible, interoperable, and can integrate
easily with other Medicaid systems – Wyoming is doing a great job in
making the most of it."

The entellitrak-based CCMS will develop and monitor plans of care,
capture and monitor assessments, screenings, treatment plans, and
authorize services, sending prior authorizations to the Benefit
Management System. On the provider side the case management system will
facilitate the comprehensive management of case related providers, their
licensure, certification, recertification, sanctions, criminal
background, and relevant provider-related reporting and analytics.
