COVINA, Calif., July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Citrus Valley Health Partners will become Emanate Health, the health system's CEO has announced.

President & CEO Rob Curry unveiled the new name and the reasoning behind the transition during a livestream event on July 26 to its more than 3,000 employees and nearly 1,000 physicians. "This isn't just a change in symbol, it's a symbol of change," Curry explained. "Our new brand name will exemplify our systemness and it reinforces that we are a united and integrated entity."

"Our new name will better reflect who we are, what we stand for, how we are all connected and how this connectedness benefits our patients and communities," added Executive Vice President & CFO Roger Sharma.

The change to Emanate Health reflects the evolution of Citrus Valley Health Partners. It was founded in 1994 after the merger and affiliation between Citrus Valley Medical Center—Inter-Community Campus in Covina, Citrus Valley Medical Center—Queen of the Valley Campus in West Covina, Foothill Presbyterian Hospital in Glendora and Hospice of the East San Gabriel Valley in West Covina. The system also now includes multiple ambulatory sites ranging from an outpatient surgery center to outpatient imaging center to affiliations with physician practices.

The name Emanate Health was selected following an 18-month process which evaluated the system's current brand equity in the community. This involved an internal examination of the company's mission, vision, and values and interviews with a cross-section of employees, patients, and community leaders.

The system is "rebranding" the way it delivers care and the way it tells its story. The goal is to exemplify "systemness" to its patients and community and to better demonstrate the full continuum of care offered and to better reflect how much it has changed and grown. The hospital names themselves will not be changing. Citrus Valley Health Partners is going away, but Inter-Community Hospital, Queen of the Valley Hospital and Foothill Presbyterian Hospital are staying.

So, why Emanate Health? The word emanate means "to come from a source." It seemed fitting since the hospitals have been a source of health for its community for decades.

"Patients see us as a catalyst for change and a beacon for healthier lives. And our new name is a symbol of this positive energy, this source of light. It reinforces our dedication to the community and our passion for keeping them well. We are Emanate Health. We will Emanate Health," Curry said.

The system will officially transition to Emanate Health in 2019.
