PITTSBURGH, July 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- While over-the-counter medication containers often include a moisture absorbent pellet or desiccant mixed in with the pills, this humidity inhibitor is often spilled out and put back multiple times. Concerned with the potential for contaminating the contents with germs from the user's hands or other surfaces, an inventor from San Antonio, Texas, redesigned the medicine bottle to keep the pellet sanitary and functioning as intended with the desiccant still able to move freely inside the bottle.

He developed a prototype for THE SAFE BOTTLE specifically to prevent the desiccant from dropping out of the bottle. As such, it reduces the chances of contaminating the pills with germs and eliminates the chocking risk associated with the desiccant, especially for children and elderly individuals. In other words, it promotes safer and more sanitary conditions and simplifies the process of counting pills. In addition, it is convenient, effective and affordably priced.

The inventor's personal experience inspired the idea. "I found it inconvenient when the desiccant kept falling out of the bottle when I tried to count the pills or simply retrieve one," he said, "and wanted to find a way to keep the desiccant inside while still able to move freely about the bottle."
