Canada NewsWire

MONTRÉAL, July 27, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Solargise, the responsible of economic development at the executive committee of the City of Montreal and the officials of the economic development department at the City of Montreal met yesterday to discuss the possibility of carrying out the project of setting up the clean and innovative technology plant.

The meeting was positive and constructive. Representatives from Solargise and the City of Montréal have committed to working together to achieve the various phases of the project and believe they are close to finding a solution for Phase One of the project, which involves setting up ingot, wafer, photovoltaic cell, plastic free photovoltaic module and glass plants and an R&D center. Both parties are keeping the best interests of the project, Montréalers, and all stakeholders in mind.

Solargise's $2.3-billion total investment would create a facility dedicated to the R&D and production of new next generation plastic-free solar panels. This initiative will create 1,000 direct and high paying jobs, as well as more than 1,500 indirect jobs.

Another press release will be shared once more information is available. Neither Solargise nor any representatives from the City of Montréal working on this file will be commenting on the project before then.
