Repayable contribution of $600,000 out of a total investment of $6,615,000

The goal of the project is to allow the company to increase its production capacity and productivity by purchasing state-of-the-art equipment to manufacture refrigerated counters and expand marketing activities abroad. It will allow the company to repatriate the production of some counters from China. The project made it possible to create 9 jobs, with 20 more to be created by the end of 2018.

Founded in 1997 and based in Chambly, MTL Technologies specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of refrigerated commercial and industrial counters. It has introduced a line of environmentally-friendly products that reduce energy consumption.

Multiples Awnings Inc.

Repayable contribution of $245,000 out of a total investment of $1,370,000

As an established, leading manufacturer, Multiples Awnings designs, makes and sells retractable awnings, solariums and other related products. Thanks to its flourishing online store as a result of its association with Costco.ca, all awnings and sun shades will now be assembled at the Beloeil plant rather than being imported. The company has also entered into an agreement with the U.S. branch of online store Costco.com so that all orders will be manufactured at its plant and shipped directly from there to the homes of clients in the U.S. The company also has a division for custom products, including, among other things, three-season sunrooms, fixed awnings, pergolas, gazebos and motorized mosquito screens, all manufactured on site for Quebec's retail market. The company intends to create 42 seasonal jobs and more permanent jobs in the long run.
