ELKHORN, Neb., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Fat Brain Toys, one of the nation's leading independent toy companies, today announced the Kidventor Challenge for 2018. The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship, a license agreement that offers ongoing royalties, as well as round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for two to attend the 2019 American International Toy Fair in New York City where their toy or game will be showcased before thousands of buyers from around the world. All finalists will receive a prize pack from Fat Brain Toys.

Last year's winner, Alexander Xiong, was one among over 160 contestants. "Alexander's invention stood out from the rest because of its simple genius," said Karen Carson, co-founder of Fat Brain Toys. "But also because it was inspired by his love for his sister, who has autism." Alexander's invention, Door Pong, is currently being manufactured and will be sold internationally in fall of this year. It will be available for purchase at https://www.fatbraintoys.com/toy_companies/fat_brain_toy_co/door_pong.cfm.

"We strongly believe in the power of pure, authentic play," said Mark Carson, President and co-founder of Fat Brain Toys. "It fills children with a desire to explore, discover, build, experiment, and be curious about the world around them. Since this company was founded, we have dedicated ourselves to helping parents enrich their children's lives with play. The Kidventor Challenge is yet another opportunity for us to inspire children to create and explore innovation."

This year's panel of judges includes Co-Host of NPR's Wow In The World Podcast Mindy Thomas, President of the Parents' Choice Foundation Claire Green, and Fat Brain Toys Co-Founder Mark Carson. Each has a unique and seasoned understanding of what makes a great toy and what will be most enjoyable and beneficial for kids.

Participants can share their ideas by submitting the name and description of their invention, accompanied by an image or drawing (optional), at https://www.fatbraintoys.com/kidventor.

The Kidventor Challenge concludes on September 26th and the winner will be announced on October 15th. To learn more, or to submit your idea, visit www.FatBrainToys.com.
