Red Bull AdrenaLAN, a three-day video game LAN, hackathon and eSports tournament, will run around the clock from Friday, July 27 to Sunday, July 29 at the International Centre in Hall 1 (6900 Airport Road) – 20 minutes from downtown Toronto.

Red Bull AdrenaLAN is BYOC, meaning competing players will bring their own computers, consoles and monitors. All attendees can cheer on the action, meet eSports legends, and take turns battling within the 100 open gaming stations in the Bell Freeplay Zone. All players will have access to Bell's world-class broadband connectivity on the event's exclusive Local Area Network (LAN). Participants and attendees can expect plenty of action, competition and camaraderie. Red Bull will be available to energize participants throughout the weekend along with a mountain of snacks and other specialty foods.

For its inaugural event, Red Bull AdrenaLAN's tournaments will feature several of the most popular titles in the world of pro and amateur eSports. Dota 2, the wildly popular sequel to Defense of the Ancients, is a multi-player online battle arena (MOBA). In an integrated professional tournament, Dota 2 teams work together to gain experience, unlock their abilities, battle opponents, and compete for $10,000 in total prize money. Fans across Canada and around the world can watch all the action too. MoonDuckTV will be streaming all AdrenaLAN Dota 2 pro matches on Twitch. Red Bull AdrenaLAN will also host a BYOC Dota 2 tournament featuring spots for 16 local teams to battle for a $5,000 prize pot.

For intergalactic warfare action, Starcraft II showcase matches will be played in the VIP Streamer Zone with $2,500 in prize money up for grabs. Even Matchup Gaming, a Canadian eSports team, will host a weekend-long Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament with a prize pot of $1,500. Red Bull AdrenaLAN's 1v1 League of Legends tournament is open to all skill levels with all equipment provided. Players need their own accounts to compete for $5,000 in cash prizes.

Red Bull Athlete Phil Balke, together with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), will be challenging FIFA players to earn the right to go toe-to-toe with him on the virtual pitch. Players who beat this legend could earn a share of the $2,500 prize pool, not to mention scene-wide respect.

Balke and #Mike, eSports champion of the New York Red Bulls in the eMLS, will also be hanging out in the Bell Freeplay Zone, alongside other eSports stars, influencers and special guests. 100 open gaming stations will be available for all attendees to go head-to-head in a wide variety of games. Competitors who win three Bell Free Play Zone matches in a row will have the chance to take on Balke or #Mike for a slice of the $2,500 prize pot.

Red Bull AdrenaLAN Hackathon is a 36-hour brainstorm, collaboration and competition for computer programmers, entrepreneurs and students. Teams of four will organize and tackle a Red Bull-inspired project and create augmented reality and voice apps based around set challenges and rewards. Categories include Best Open World Hack, Best Mobile Game, Best VR/AR Hack, and Best Twitch Extension. The Hackathon will also include an exclusive panel on the Future of Hackathons featuring hackathon directors from Hack The Valley, uOttaHacks, Starterhacks, as well as companies like Google and HackerNest.

Red Bull AdrenaLAN is a large, complex and demanding event – one that will push any broadband network to the limit. To keep up with the relentless data flow, Bell was the clear choice as the proven technology leader providing the fastest Internet solution. The company's first involvement with LAN events was Fragapalooza in 2002. Over the last several years, Bell has been the primary partner at a variety of high profile Canadian LAN events including DreamHack, Lan ETS and EGLX. Bell also recently announced its sponsorship of Bell Fibe House, home of the Raptors Uprising Gaming Club eSports team.
