ARLINGTON, Texas, July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- David Shepard, a true storyteller trained in University of Texas, Arlington, and retired from a forty-year career in banking and finance to write books, has completed his new book "The Jack Henry Saga: They Don't Know Jack": an engaging fictional character study inspired by the author's own life.

Author Shepard writes about a morning in the life of Jack: "There was a fresh coating of snow in the ground as Jack looked out his bathroom window. His electric razor hummed as he anticipated what lay ahead for him. He ran through his schedule in his mind. It's going to take a little longer to get to work today with that new snowfall, he thought. I better leave fifteen minutes early for the plant.

"John David Henry Jr., better known as Jack, had started working at the one of the major automotive assembly plants near Detroit, Michigan, right after his discharge from the Army in 1975. He was in the Ranger Corp until he took a shrapnel in the knee from an enemy mine and was awarded the Purple Heart and an early discharge. Next month would mark his fortieth anniversary with the company and his discharge from the Rangers. He had a picture of his wife, Betty, and their two children, Robert and Mary, taped inside his locker."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, David Shepard's new book is an incredible profile of a fictional character cobbled together from the author's experiences. Through Jack, the author asks and answers questions about family, work, success, religion, and the American dream in general.
