Tank18 Launches New Dinner, Beer, and Cocktail Programs

From wine flights to dinner service, Tank18 sets the standard for modern urban wineries.

PR Newswire

SAN FRANCISCO, July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tank18, located in the heart of San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood, is officially accepting reservations for their new seated dinner service starting Friday July 19th. Founders Patrick MacCartee and Cherlyn Chin expand their ever-present hospitality with a logical addition to their already popular wine program and event productions – a full kitchen complemented by craft cocktails and house-brewed beers.

At launch, dinner service will run Thursday to Sunday, from 5:30pm until 11:30pm. MacCartee has tapped local chef Brandon Cavazos to prepare a menu artfully referenced as the intersection of "Japanese technique, Italian heart, and American pantry." Cavazos finds inspiration from family nostalgia for dishes that are grounded in soul and crafted by 12 years of culinary experience.

Dishes include Sea Salt and Vinegar Fries with Tahini Sauce, Fried Chicken with Chili Sauce, a Grilled Romaine Salad with Romano Beans and Parmesan, their Impossible Burger with King Trumpet Slaw, and Skirt Steak with Farro Verde, Roasted Summer Squash, Grilled Torpedo Onion and Salsa Verde. The menu encourages collaborative eating, with ample large format tables also fostering a communal aspect to the dining room. A semi-private dining space claims the front street views, allowing room for a 14-person seated service or 30 person standing reception.

The restaurant's design is pulled from the menu concept, marrying Japanese craft and the warmth of an Italian home. Custom tables were inspired by artist Sam Strand and utilize sleek black and natural wood, playing off positive and negative spacing and the straightforwardness of any kitchen's centerpiece – the butcherblock. Other structural additions include a full kitchen and an improved back bar displaying the same stripped color palate and clean lines, complete with draft beer and cocktail capabilities.

An event space perfect for intimate groups and large gatherings, the Howard Street warehouse atmosphere reflects the boisterous and convivial Tank18 team and boasts over 6,000 square feet of modular space, making it one of the largest urban winery destinations for those seeking an in-city experience. The interior uses lush trees to integrate private dining, restaurant seating, lounge, and bar top tasting service, making for a welcoming and shared experience. The Dore Alley wall features a mural by local artist Nathan Elliot.

The Tank18 team will to continue to provide unique amenities and experiences such as custom designed wine labels and their wildly popular BYOB once-a-month event.

About Tank18
Tank18 is an urban winery located in San Francisco's SOMA district that opened its doors in January 2013. Part winery, tasting room, event venue, and restaurant, Tank18 delivers a unique offering to the neighborhood and the San Francisco wine and food scene. Founders Patrick MacCartee and Cheryln Chin proudly describe their space as a reflection of themselves – "big, loud, and full of alcohol." The concept of Tank18 began over a very long lunch in the winter of 2011 at Duarte's in Pescadero, CA, when a group of tech heads from the Bay Area decided what they were doing at that very moment was the life experience they wanted: wine, food, and fun.
