MANASSAS, Va., July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- "Happy employees think of doing nice things for people in need," says Able President Joe Singleton, "and we encourage, subsidize, and act upon the ideas that our employees bring to us."

The YOU2 (squared) Movement Medallion employees receive at Able for outstanding contributions to the workplace. The movement, created by employees at Able, is expected to suffuse company policy and principles as more employees receive the medallions.

500% growth in the past six years and on the way to 50 million in annual revenues, the family-based moving company takes time twice a year to review green policies and community involvement at every level of the organization.

Last year, at the behest of company employees, found Able involved with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, wounded veteran moves for the Wounded Warrior Foundation, the staging of a retreat for Serving Willing Warriors, and multiple food and clothing drives in partnership with Northern Virginia Family Services. The company diverts millions of pounds of disposables to charities and other outlets to reduce landfill usage as a part of its "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" program.

"Every one of these programs came from the idea of an employee," says co-founder and Vice President Jim Singleton. "We could not be more proud of the amount of pro-bono manpower efforts put forth by the employees who choose to be part of our family."

Founded in 1987 by the Singleton brothers and their father Bill, the company has always compensated its employees well. A great health plan that pays for 50% of the entire family, matching 401k program, 100% Employer-funded profit sharing, paid holidays and time off, and weekly pay all go a long way to making an employee feel cared about. The company also believes this is what gives employees the confidence to come forward with their ideas for making a difference in the community.

Able recognizes that a large portion of the rocket-like growth it has experienced in the last five years is due to this feeling of employee happiness and confidence, and it is taking further steps to recognize and encourage these qualities. It recently kicked off its very own "YOU2 Movement".

"The YOU2 Movement is about recognizing extraordinary efforts from employees with regard to the passion and attitude that they bring to the workplace," explains Able Chief Operating Officer Steve Kuhn.

Employees displaying this behavior receive a medallion symbolizing appreciation by Able for the individual that has gone out of his or her way for others. Embossed with its company logo, a YOU2 medal is circled with its engraved credo: "To Foster an environment for people who move people, where everyone and everything matters!"
