American Water's Stanford Set To Participate at NCSL 2018 Legislative Summit

wastewater utility company, today announced Dr. Ben Stanford, senior
director, water intelligence will speak at the 2018 National Conference
of State Legislatures' (NCSL) Legislative Summit being held from July 30
– August 2 in Los Angeles, CA.

On Wednesday, August 1st, Dr. Stanford will participate on a panel that
will discuss the safety and quality of drinking water in the United
States. He will discuss American Water's efforts to provide safe, clean,
reliable drinking water to our customers and the impact of emerging
contaminants to an audience of state legislators and policy makers. The
panel will also explore how states and the federal government work to
protect the country's drinking water.

"We are excited to have Dr. Ben Stanford and American Water present at
this year's National Conference of State Legislatures' Legislative
Summit," said Doug Farquhar, environment program director, NCSL "As an
industry leader, American Water is able to provide our members with
valuable information and a unique perspective to help them better
understand emerging water quality issues."

NCSL's mission is to improve the quality and effectiveness of state
legislatures, promote policy innovation and communication among state
legislatures and ensure state legislatures a strong, cohesive voice in
the federal system.

All meetings held in conjunction with NCSL's Legislative Summit are open
to the press. Registration is required, but free to credentialed
