fixture sales will be boosted by upgrades for the sake of improving

perspective. Homeowners are more likely to adapt energy-efficient LED
bulbs to existing fixtures rather than redo their lighting systems in

replacement hassles. Manufacturers still need to work to make a
compelling case to consumers for upgrades as a value proposition.

The growing dominance of LED lighting will continue to change the way
fixtures are designed, both functionally and aesthetically.
Increasingly, LEDs are integrated directly into fixtures, freeing
designers from having to accommodate a light bulb. LEDs can be used in
compact and modular arrangements, which will allow LED-integrated
fixtures to take on new shapes and sizes. This will create significant

Smart lighting technologies - such as wireless controls, occupancy
