PR Newswire

AUSTIN, Texas, June 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Aceable, the Austin-based education company and creators of the first state-approved driver's ed and real estate education apps, today announced the hires of Chief Revenue Officer Eric Seifert, VP of Marketing Ben Opps, VP of Engineering Derrick Mar, and VP of Content Emily Lawrence.

Aceable's new hires are part of an aggressive growth plan to continue expanding both the driving and real estate products nationwide, with additional plans to explore new industry verticals in the future.

Seifert and Opps join Aceable's marketing team with over 30 years of combined digital and performance marketing experience. Most recently the pair played a major role in growing A Place for Mom in the senior care industry by 400% over the past 5 years, eventually leading to a successful sale to General Atlantic and Silver Lake Partners in 2017. "Aceable's team is passionate about improving the educational experience and that shows through in our raving fan base of customers" said Opps. "I'm delighted to accelerate the company's growth and help more students get the knowledge they need in an entertaining package."

VP of Engineering, Derrick Mar, brings a wealth of technology leadership experience in high-growth environments. "Being totally obsessed with helping students achieve their goals, we're leveraging every facet of modern technology available to offer a world-class, mobile-first platform for learning," stated Mar when asked about his new role. Previously the CIO at Travelport, Derrick drove innovation and broadened the products' footprint to include cloud and mobile to position the products for the future.

Emily Lawrence, VP of Content, joins Aceable from Denver-based online education company Craftsy. As SVP of Content and Production at Craftsy, Emily and her team grew an award-winning online education business from its infancy to serve over 12M members, partner with 600+ instructors and create 1300+ classes across 16 verticals. The company was acquired by NBCUniversal in 2017. "Aceable is committed to offering the training you need in a form that is more accessible, more fun and more effective than ever before. I'm thrilled to join this wonderful team," stated Lawrence. Lawrence's background shows a clear passion for education, both in her role at Craftsy and her time teaching at Kenyon College and Dickinson College.

"Eric, Ben, Derrick and Emily are going to play key roles in the growth of our existing driving vertical, as well as our newly launched real estate education product," said CEO Blake Garrett. "Their combined experiences in scaling business and leading talented teams to explosive growth make each of them a really natural fit for our needs."

The company has grown from just 25 employees in June of 2016 to 88 employees this June with more openings still being filled. To see all available career opportunities visit Aceable.com/careers.
