Technology Veteran Will Draw on Security Experience to Further MKACyber's SOC Solutions

FAIRFAX, Va. (PRWEB) May 07, 2018

MKACyber, the leading security operations solutions provider focused on connecting the security operations center (SOC) to the business, today announced the addition of Stephen Cox as the company's vice president of software development. In this role, Mr. Cox will use his security industry experience leading software development teams to further MKACyber's vision to provide data-informed, business-focused and cost-effective SOC solutions.

"SOCs are the hub of security. When you're building a holistic SOC platform, you need a holistic security expert whose experience is both broad and deep. And this is exactly what Stephen brings to the table: a diverse and impressive resume showcasing an extensive array of experience, not only as a developer of security products, but also in systems architecture, threat intelligence and malware analysis, and endpoint and network forensics," said Mischel Kwon, CEO of MKACyber. "In all, Stephen's experiences uniquely qualify him to lead the development of MKACyber's W@TCHTOWER SOC enablement engine and make him a welcome addition to the MKACyber team."

In his two decades of IT and 10 years of security experience, Mr. Cox has worked on some of the most highly touted products and at some of the most well-regarded companies in the technology industry. Prior to joining MKACyber, Mr. Cox was the chief security architect at SecureAuth Corporation. Before that, Mr. Cox was the technical lead not only for the FireEye-as-a-Service platform but also for FireEye HX, becoming an employee of FireEye after it acquired Mandiant, where he worked on that company's endpoint solution. He's also worked as the principal software engineer for NetWitness Spectrum, staying with that company through its acquisition by RSA Security, and as a technical lead at VeriSign, before which Mr. Cox was a software engineer at Northrop Grumman and America Online.

"It's an exciting time to join MKACyber as it evolves from its roots as a boutique SOC service provider and consultancy to a company that's developed its own in-house, holistic SOC platform," said Mr. Cox. "Being able to take MKACyber's proven SOC processes and detection methodologies and build them into the SOC enablement engine that fulfills Mischel Kwon's vision of improving our customers security posture while reducing costs and conveying needs and progress in ways that resonate with the business and its leaders is going to be incredibly rewarding."
