Harris Teeter Invites Shoppers, Associates to Donate to Support Our Troops; Campaign Raised $4.6 Million for the USO Since 2012

Company Introduces Round Up Capability in North Carolina Stores; Will Sell Donation Cards in Remaining Markets

Harris Teeter announced today the launch of its seventh annual Support Our Troops donation card campaign along with its first Support Our Troops Round Up campaign, both benefiting the USO.

The donation card campaign will run in all Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland and Delaware stores throughout the month of May. The round up campaign will run in all North Carolina stores from May 1- July 31. The campaign is held in honor of Military Appreciation Month and in support of active duty military and their families, as well as wounded service members, those transitioning back to civilian life, and families of the fallen.

"We are thankful for the involvement of our valued associates and loyal shoppers who continuously support the good works of the USO."

Harris Teeter shoppers and associates in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C., Maryland and Delaware will be invited to make $1, $3 or $5 donations to Support Our Troops at checkout. Shoppers and associates in North Carolina will be invited, for the first time, to donate by rounding up their transaction to the nearest whole dollar.

The company gives 100 percent of these donations to local USO centers to help keep America's service members connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. The USO acts as an extended family for our nation's military by delivering valuable programs, morale-boosting services, engaging entertainment and a touch of home through more than 200 locations worldwide.

In 2017, the Support Our Troops campaign raised $1 million; bringing the total donated since 2012 to more than $4.6 million.
