WESTON, Fla., April 27, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- DHL eCommerce, a division of the world's leading logistics company Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL), is launching its fulfillment solution in Chile to better meet changing consumer demands and the need for retailers to locate products closer to their consumer. This expansion follows the expectation of continued e-commerce growth in Chile, which is expected to expand at a 10% annual rate from 2017-2020 and reach EUR 2.5 billion by 2020. Fulfillment, an important pillar in an end-to-end e-commerce logistics strategy, will complement the nationwide DHL eCommerce domestic delivery network launched in Chile in 2017.

"The share of e-commerce to retail in Chile is currently around 3% while in more mature markets such as the U.S. this number is at around 17%  – and still growing – indicating huge room for growth in Chile. A good fulfillment and delivery strategy is crucial to allow retailers to fully leverage the e-commerce opportunity while  delivering a great consumer experience and keeping their supply chain costs in check", said Charles Brewer, CEO, DHL eCommerce, "The launch of fulfillment in Chile means retailers can now move inventory closer to their consumers to enable them to fulfill orders more quickly and efficiently."

DHL eCommerce launched its domestic delivery platforms in Chile last year with tailored B2C delivery operations and consumer-centric solutions. Over the last year, DHL eCommerce has seen strong  e-commerce growth in various industries including apparel, footwear, consumer appliances and electronics, and home accessories. Now offering fulfillment services in Chile aligns with the company's strategy in expanding its fulfillment centers in key international markets, enabling retailers to reach their consumers worldwide.

"Our fulfillment offering is an integrated solution for brands, marketplaces and e-tailers that optimizes and incorporates fulfillment and distribution. This will be a huge benefit for our customers with greater sales scalability without huge investments in global platforms, no fixed costs, transactional payments, and real-time visibility and tracking of inventory," said Hugo Donoso, Country Manager of DHL eCommerce Chile, "With our e-commerce logistics offering, retailers in Chile will be able to deliver a great e-commerce experience and tap into the excellent growth opportunity."

Through the operations of the DPDHL Group in Chile, the company can offer e-commerce merchants a full suite of logistics and shipping services: premium international shipping from DHL Express, nationwide B2C domestic delivery and e-commerce fulfillment from DHL eCommerce, supply chain logistics management through DHL Supply Chain; and air/sea/road freight solutions from DHL Global Forwarding.

DHL has fulfillment centers in the U.S., Mexico, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, Southeast Asia and now Chile.
