Plastic Surgery Patients' Stories' Underlines that Plastic Surgery is for All Types of People, Says Dr. Michael Jazayeri

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., April 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A May 23 article on Vice looks at a number of plastic surgery patients in the United Kingdom and their feelings about how their procedures have worked out for them. Orange County-based plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Jazayeri says that the article reflects the diversity of people who get procedures, as well as the fact that most of them end up feeling very good about their outcomes.

Dr. Jazayeri notes that the people who come to his office for procedures all have their own story to tell. When it comes to breast augmentation, for example, while the stereotype might be of a young models or actresses obtaining the procedure to advance their careers, it's often much more of a personal choice aimed at improving a woman's self-confidence. Moreover, Dr. Jazayeri points out that relatively few of his patients are performers; their professions range from doctors and CPAs, to teachers and stay-at-home moms. In fact, he adds that many patients who get augmentations as well as breast lifts are mothers who are seeking to restore the appearance of their breasts after one or more childbirths and months or years of breastfeeding.

The doctor adds that, while many patients are seeking out procedures to help them improve an already very attractive appearance, others are simply seeking to avoid the wrong kind of attention. An example would be the still relatively little known practice of using liposuction as a means of breast reduction for men to treat gynecomastia, an embarrassing condition that causes male breasts to become enlarged. He adds that, for different reasons, breast reduction surgeries for women have long been extremely popular. While they are often obtained to deal with back strain and other problems related to extremely large breasts, as well as for cosmetic reasons, many younger women obtained the procedure simply to avoid too much unwanted attention.

Dr. Jazayeri adds that the important thing is that no one should avoid having a procedure simply because they think plastic surgery is only for people they see on television. It time that people looked at plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures as simply another way for people to feel good about themselves without any unnecessary judgments, says the doctor.
