This transformative program and collaboration between School Specialty and the CFP Foundation aims to help schools and teachers with much-needed resources to support holistic, forward-thinking and secure educational environments for students in Atlanta as well as across the country.

Three additional schools will be chosen to receive makeovers in coordination with the Extra Yard for Teachers Summit on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Georgia World Congress Center ahead of the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 8 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

"Recognizing that a sound education cannot exist without a safe environment that inspires all students to learn, School Specialty is honored to work with the College Football Playoff Foundation to enable educators to create innovative, reliable spaces that foster meaningful experiences and support the critical skills our children require to be leaders in the 21st century," stated Joseph M. Yorio, President and Chief Executive Officer. "The Company has been a leader in education for decades, and we take great pride in knowing that our solutions and services help drive positive student outcomes, while making education easier for those responsible for our youth. The 21st Century Safe School's sole mission is to enhance education by addressing the emotional, mental, social, and physical perspectives of a quality education. We look forward to growing our partnership with the CFP Foundation to make a difference in improving our nation's schools and advancing opportunities for students to succeed."

School Specialty, featuring its safety and security subsidiary, SSI Guardian, and the CFP Foundation will provide classroom makeovers that include the provision of essential classroom supplies, the installation of modern, flexible furnishings and state-of-the-art technology equipment, as well as vital security upgrades – all key elements for a safe 21st century learning environment.

Speaking on behalf of M. Agnes Jones Elementary, Dr. Margul Woolfolk, the school's principal underscored, "When I see children who are exposed to an environment like this and I know this is going to help with our student achievement, then it makes me feel as though what we're doing is really going to make a difference."

This is the second year School Specialty and the CFP Foundation have partnered on the Extra Yard Classroom Makeover Project. To date, 12 makeovers have been awarded, each valued at $25,000. Since its inception in 2013, the CFP Foundation's programs and grants have impacted more than 97,000 teachers, 3 million students and 12,000 schools through its Extra Yard for Teachers platform. Through the extremely visible and powerful platform of college football, the CFP Foundation continues to effectively encourage and equip teachers across the country.

"Providing teachers with the classroom resources they need to be successful is a large part of our work," said Britton Banowsky, CFP Foundation Executive Director. "We are so grateful for the partnership with School Specialty and for the support of the Extra Yard Classroom Makeover Project. An innovative learning environment makes a huge difference in student achievement."

SSI Guardian's President, Michael Yorio continued, "Working with schools across the country on upgrading their classrooms has been a very humbling and rewarding experience for our School Specialty team. Teachers are the backbone of the education our nation's children receive, and this is our way of giving back to those who work tirelessly and do a phenomenal job at supporting their students. We also understand the challenges that educators face when resources are limited and hope to help lighten that burden by awarding fully-funded classroom makeovers that facilitate student success."

Stay tuned to watch the classroom makeover at M. Agnes Jones Elementary come to life on November 15. A video highlighting the project will be aired at the College Football Playoff news conference taking place that day at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and released on Facebook and Twitter: @CFPExtraYard and @SchoolSpecialty.
