About North Wind Power, Inc.

NW commenced the study of small scale wind/solar energy cell systems 6 years ago.

Filtering through all the various manufacturers, NW selected SEI as its partner, for the large part because it was the only wind turbine manufacturer who had the patience and the courage to submit its WindCutter design for U.S. certification approval.  When in January, 2017, SEI received this approval, achieving it with flying colors, NW entered into partnership discussions.

The first WindCutter turbine was purchased on October 10, 2017, and is the initial turbine to be installed at the Fogo Island Producers Cooperative Seafood Processing Plant located on Fogo Island, Newfoundland.  During its initial operation there, NW will submit its design and claims to Environment Canada's Environmental Technologies Verification Agency (ETV).

Much of the data required has already been collected through the U.S. certification process, however there are certain Canadian conditions that require careful examination.  NW feels confident that the WindCutter design will become the first and only North American design in its class to be verified in both the United States and Canada.  The wind turbine manufacturing industry is a hugely unregulated one.  NW is confident in their choice of SEI's WindCutter design.

Ian Strachan, the creator and CEO of NW adds, "Using no plastic parts and built like a tank, the WindCutter design is the only design built to stand the rigors of the Canadian North."

Looking Forward

This collaboration enables SEI to advance the use of wind energy.  SEI and NW have submitted a proposal concept to Natural Resources Canada and have been confirmed for formal proposal submission.  Successful selection would see installations commence in April 2018.  We are confident with our submission because it is the only turbine in its class that has successfully completed certification analysis.  Further, due to the extreme weather conditions in Canada, the WindCutter will likely be chosen due to its robust construction and proprietary safety braking system, its customized hybrid components and its availability.

Canada is committed to reducing diesel dependency for the generation of electricity for current off-grid communities.  For the first time, the Inuit population will have clean, on-demand electricity, carbon free, in line with their sacred obligation to the environment.

SEI WindCutter, designed as a hybrid system to provide wind energy along with storage backup cells and a solar array, is slated to be the primary solution for NW.  This effort is intended to lead to a formal joint venture between SEI and NW.

Currently, the WindCutter is scheduled to be installed on Fogo Island.  This installation has been approved.   Projections are to deliver 200 turbine systems for the first year, beginning 2018.  The first shipment is to be delivered to Newfoundland this week.

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau has made turning to renewable energy his promise, with $100M in funding devoted to facilitate solutions to this issue.  In addition, NW will have an established investment company in Canada that will serve as a joint commitment with the Canadian government.  The first off-grid focus will be Canada's Aboriginal communities.

The Canadian government is taking its global citizenship very seriously.  As a result, Natural Resources Canada, regarding global initiative Mission Innovation, had this to say, "Canada is joining the international community in the fight against climate change through Mission Innovation: a commitment to double investments in clean energy innovation over five years, accelerating global clean energy innovation, ensuring clean energy technologies are widely affordable and driving economic growth."

The goal of Mission Innovation is "to dramatically accelerate global clean energy innovation."  More is available on their website at:  http://mission-innovation.net

Prime Minister Trudeau is aligning with both the First Nations of Canada and the environmentalists with respect to joining Mission Innovation.  Another pledge is to power all of its government buildings and operations using renewable energy sources by 2025, with a goal to reduce their greenhouse-gas emissions by 40% by 2030.

The actions announced today are very important first steps for SEI.  We are in the process of committing to our Canadian partners the needed turbines for extreme weather conditions.  The use of SEI turbine systems will bolster support for renewable energy conversion and provide a solution that has commercial viability and proven technology.

Sauer Energy CEO, Dieter Sauer, commented, "We applaud our Canadian neighbors and agree that cohesion is an integral part of the strategic collaboration between SEI and NW.  The Canadian government has vowed their commitment to acceptance and to helping fund this project.

NW is dedicated to providing renewable hybrid energy solutions to the advantage of the Aboriginal people.  It is our aim to work closely with our Canadian partners for a smooth transition toward the goal.  SEI will also be working together with Wind Sun Energy Systems to combine their expertise to tie hybrid systems together for optimum performance."

About Sauer Energy Inc.

Sauer Energy Inc. is a technology developer and manufacturer focused on the emerging renewable energy market. SEI's first offering, the WindCutter, is based on the Darrieus principal and has five airfoil blades that use the principle of lift to rotate the shaft and is pole mounted only.  Sold as a hybrid system, including solar and energy storage capability, our systems can offer the ability to structure on-grid or off-grid configurations.

SEI's technology is remarkable as it requires so few parts. This means a lower manufacturing cost, more efficient operation, lower maintenance (fewer parts = less chance of malfunction), and greater power generation. This will provide SEI with a new direction for wind capture, making it easier to scale from residential, to powering a small community -- all the way up to large industrial facilities. The market opportunity for this new, self-contained, innovative technology is unlimited and growing rapidly.

With several patents in place and many more pending, SEI looks forward to delivering on its promises for commercialization, and it is also aggressively moving toward a financial return on its investments. To learn more about Sauer Energy, please visit: www.SauerEnergy.com
