Ceremonies were held Wednesday evening, September 20 at Riverside Corporate Wellness (www.riversidecorporatewellness.com), a just completed $2 million, 10,000 square foot facility set at Belle Square in the heart of historic downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Celebrated was the start of an ambitious effort to lead the growing national interest in health and wellness programs for employees of forward thinking companies. The mission is to increase employee health and wellness, reduce absenteeism, increase productivity and ultimately reduce company health insurance premiums.

"It was staring us all in the face," said Weber, the Founder of Logistics Health, Inc. (www.logisticshealth.com) and now Founder and Chairman of Riverside Corporate Wellness, a part of the Weber Group family of companies. "The many lessons we learned bringing efficient, effective health care services to the military translate well to corporate employees and their families. We are changing lives by changing lifestyles, preventing illness first instead of simply treating it later, and helping create healthier, happier and more productive employees while lowering health care insurance premiums."

Weber has a distinguished career driving innovation in health care. Nearly two decades ago he founded Logistics Health, Inc. which has become globally recognized as a leader in the field of military medical and dental readiness. LHI is also one of the nation's leading employers offering a nationally-recognized employee wellness program that Weber says more than returns the investment LHI makes in the health and wellness of the company's more than 1,500 employees. It is now a subsidiary of Optum Health Holdings, part of the UnitedHealth Group (UHG) family of businesses.

Weber's commitment to health and wellness runs throughout his companies.

"Don Weber does what he says," said Jacob Spirer, a senior member of the Riverside Corporate Wellness staff who spoke at the event. "That sustainable green wall we have here for everyone to enjoy is an ever-present reminder that a healthy mind in a healthy body invariably leads to ideas that flourish."

Also on the podium was La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat (www.cityoflacrosse.org/), now serving his second term in office. Administering a budget of $71 million annually, he oversees the management of the city's 17 departments and more than 520 employees.

He recognized the many contributions Don Weber and his family have made to the La Crosse area over three decades, and noted the success LHI has experienced for the nation's military, suggesting its health and wellness program would also work for the city he helps govern.

"The City of La Crosse looks forward to working with Riverside Corporate Wellness to enhance our own employee benefit and wellness program," Kabat said. "A public-private partnership is something that could serve as a model for other municipalities in the future."

Riverside Corporate Wellness is also adding state-of-the-art health care services as they become proven. One such initiative, known as Intellivisit (www.intellivisit.com), features a phone or laptop application driven by an artificial intelligence program.

As Jeff Miller, CEO of Intellivisit said, his company offers a doctor's visit without ever actually having to visit a doctor.

"It's a way for employees to get better when he or she is not feeling well without having to speak to a provider by phone, video, or in person. The patient answers some questions about how they're feeling through the application, submits that information to a provider who then reviews employee symptoms and messages back with a treatment plan and prescription, if necessary."

Intellivisit is one of what Riverside Corporate Wellness officials say is part of a series of leading edge solutions to the healthcare needs of employees of companies large and small. The result is a healthier, happier, more productive worker and family along with reduced healthcare insurance premiums.

Riverside Corporate Wellness is a subsidiary of The Weber Group (www.theweber.group), a wide range of companies spanning industries that include development, hospitality and healthcare and wellness. Recently completed is a $68 million development complex called Belle Square (www.bellesquarelacrosse.com) in the heart of historic downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin. It includes 93 luxury apartments, a 110,000 sq. ft. office tower and 30,000 sq. ft. of retail space, dramatically transforming the downtown LaCrosse skyline. It is already nearing full occupancy shortly after its opening.

Threading throughout The Weber Group companies is a philosophy that promotes healthy living through sustainability, usability and access, bringing a philosphy of "(L)eave this place better than we found it" to markets not yet part of the growing urban trend that puts quality of life interests ahead of all others.
