CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- As thousands come together to enjoy the major golf tournament in Charlotte, AT&T* is keeping the data-hungry crowds connected. We're bringing in extra network support at Quail Hollow Club so customers can share every experience and exciting moment with their friends and family.

AT&T is boosting data-hungry crowds at Quail Hollow Club by bringing in a Cell On Wheels (COW) to boost internet connectivity.

Here's how. We're bringing in a Cell On Wheels (COW) to boost the internet connectivity for the large number of smartphone users. The improved coverage will give customers faster and more reliable connections August 7 through August 13.

AT&T has the nation's best data network1. We continue to see increased data usage across our mobile network, especially at big events. In fact, data on our mobile network has increased about 250,000% since 2007, and the majority of that traffic is video.

In 2016, mobile usage was flying on the course the last time this major golf tournament was played in New Jersey, as golf fans used our network to share the most exciting moments from the links. AT&T customers used nearly 2 TB of data! That's equal to more than 5.6 million selfies, or social media posts with photos.
