CURE Pharmaceutical Expects Increased Demand for Its Enhanced Transdermal Drug Delivery Platform

OXNARD, Calif., July 05, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CURE Pharmaceutical (OTCQB:CURR), ("CURE"), a leading disruptive drug delivery technology and pharmaceutical cannabinoid molecule development company, today announced that it expects increased demand for its novel transdermal drug delivery platform that utilizes an epidermis penetration enhancer for increased functionality of its delivery matrix. A recent research report by Research and Markets predicts the Global Transdermal Drug Delivery Market to grow at a CAGR of around 11.6% over the next decade to reach approximately $95.57 billion by 2025.

CURE's innovative transdermal drug delivery platform, formulated to deliver a therapeutically effective amount of drug across a patient's skin, utilizes an epidermis penetration enhancer called a vasodilator that is used to open the pores sufficiently to enable the passive transport of active ingredients, combined with carrier solvents across the epidermis layer of the skin and into the dermis and subdermal tissue.

"Transdermal drug delivery is one of our proprietary drug delivery technologies that helps us support our mission to improve people's lives by redefining how medicines and health products are delivered and experienced," said CEO of CURE Rob Davidson. "We expect to experience increased demand for our transdermal products as consumers and the healthcare industry increasingly turn to drug delivery methods that result in improved drug delivery and medication compliance."

CURE recently partnered with a third party contract research organization to conduct a transdermal absorption study with a battery of eight dissimilar drug molecules. The skin used was viable human skin taken within hours of a tummy-tuck excision. Results showed that all eight molecules permeated all seven layers of the skin with a varying efficiency, validating the strength and potential of the technology and speed, variability, duration and functionality of the delivery matrix.

In addition, CURE is researching and developing proprietary formulas of different cannabinoids and terpene profiles integrated into its advanced oral thin film, CureFilm™ and transdermal applications leveraging its proprietary polymer and encapsulation technology. The Company is focusing on integrating its proprietary delivery systems to provide solutions to conditions like pain, neuropathy, cancer (including pediatric cancer), PTSD and other psychiatric disorders, autoimmune diseases, Parkinson's disease and sleep disorders.
