Cary, NC (PRWEB) February 13, 2017

ACHC Inspection Services (AIS) received approval by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy to conduct inspections that fulfill non-resident licensure requirements for compounding pharmacies who want to ship into the state. Oklahoma, Ohio, Florida, and Texas have also approved AIS. Pharmacy inspections serve to validate the compounding practice according to industry standards, including but not limited to USP 797 requirements. The inspection process offers an added measure of assurance the safety and efficacy of compounded medications in the marketplace.

Accreditation Commission for Health Care's (ACHC's) broad and extensive array of pharmacy compliance solutions, including accreditation programs for sterile and non-sterile compounding, infusion, specialty, and long-term care pharmacy services positions it to be the industry's solution of choice.

‘‘Our entire organization is committed to facilitating the highest-quality patient care and safety,'' said ACHC CEO, José Domingos. ‘‘We partner with pharmacies and regulatory bodies to ensure proper compounding techniques are followed, resulting in safe and effective medications. The efforts of these states to ensure the safety of compounded medications are commendable and we look forward to working with them to provide assurance to residents.''

AIS assess the compounding process according to a predetermined set of criteria. AIS Inspections are conducted by licensed pharmacists who have extensive experience in the area of pharmacy compounding. Pharmacies may visit AISInspections.org to learn more about the inspection process.
