Kiën's LICHT 1 increases a consumer's productivity while saving 80 percent in running energy expenses

BERLIN, Germany (PRWEB) November 09, 2016

Kiën, a German startup founded by neon design expert sygns, has turned to Kickstarter to rally support behind their innovative new lamp, LICHT 1. The smart pendant lamp mimics the traditional shape of the neon tube, but emits healthy, productive and energy-saving LED light. Kiën's smart lamp connects to consumers' smart devices where they have full control over brightness and color temperature.

"Our goal has always been to produce a beautiful, functional light system. Now, thanks to our backers, we're able to make that a reality," said Kiën Co-Founder Nils Lehnert. "We're growing a community around LICHT 1 and are looking forward to sharing our smart lamp with the world very soon."

LICHT 1 is designed to create the perfect lighting conditions for individual preferences. Whether a user is reading, sleeping, working or cooking, LICHT 1 dynamically adjusts to create accurate light conditions and color tones. The easy-to-use Bluetooth 4.0 app allows users to control one or multiple lamps.

LICHT 1's design comes with health benefits too. Cold, bluish light in the afternoon signals the body to release Cortisol, which makes consumers more productive. On the other hand, warm amber light at sunset makes users more relaxed thanks to the body's release of Melatonin. Using LED lights with Color-Rendering-Index (CRI) of 90+, the LICHT 1 is able to emulate the whole spectrum of natural daylight.

Available in seven custom-made powder coatings, LICHT 1 offers a rich texture and fine matte finish. The lamp's sleek design is less than four centimeters in diameter and comes in three different sizes. LICHT 1's smallest size is ideal as a desk or bedside lamp. The medium version is approximately 100 centimeters long and is best suited for medium-sized rooms. Measuring at 140 centimeters long, the large LICHT 1 produces under 5,000 lumen, which is excellent for big rooms.

The Kiën team has already raised over $150K on Kickstarter. Backers may purchase a LICHT 1 lamp starting at €390, which is about $428. The lamps are expected to ship in April 2017. Those who are interested in backing the campaign may choose between seven finishes, which include black, white, red, blue, walnut, oak and concrete.
