MASHANTUCKET, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Foxwoods® Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $37 million for the month of October 2016. This figure is down 4 percent compared to $38.5 million in October of 2015. Handle for the month was $483.5 million, up .2 percent from the $482.5 million wagered in the same month in 2015.

Foxwoods' contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in October 2016 is $9.8 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.9 billion.

Foxwoods Resort Casino kicked off October with a bang as Francis S. of Springfield, MA won almost $550,000 on Foxwoods multi-link progressive table-game system, the second-largest progressive table-game jackpot in Foxwoods history. All gamers at Foxwoods were winners in October as the property introduced its new, world-class Foxwoods Rewards program featuring more benefits than ever before.

Foxwoods' exceptional October entertainment slate was anchored by appearances from acclaimed chef and TV personality Anthony Bourdain, pop sensation Il Divo, country duo stars Montgomery Gentry and distinguished British vocalists Matt Goss and Engelbert Humperdinck.

The property continued to embrace its ongoing commitment to giving back to the community, partnering with the Tanger Outlets to bring back the PinkSTYLE shopping program, with proceeds benefitting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and ECHO Cancer Foundation of Norwich, CT.

Foxwoods' entertainment lineup for the rest of the month is bristling with stars including comedy icon Martin Lawrence and chart-topping rock band Goo Goo Dolls. For those looking for some holiday cheer, Foxwoods has an array of entertainment options including Brian Setzer Orchestra's 13th Annual Christmas Rocks! Tour, the Donny and Marie Christmas Show and all-star tribute group Legends in Concert, whose 35-show residency begins on November 25 and runs through January 1.

Elsewhere on property, don't miss The Magical History Tour: A Beatles Memorabilia Exhibition featuring a collection of rare artifacts and stunning photographs from one of the most influential bands in music history. The unique exhibit opened on November 10 and will run through February 5. All tickets to Foxwoods shows can be purchased at Foxwoods.com.

Above all, the holidays are a time to give back to those in need and on November 5, Foxwoods Resort Casino and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation launched the fourth annual "Stuff the Bus" campaign in support of United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and its Tommy Toy Fund program. The property is collecting unwrapped toys, blankets, pajamas, jackets and diapers to donate to local families in need this holiday season. Donations are being collected at the Foxwoods Bus Terminal, Bay #1 through December 10.
