Ministry's Director of Sponsor and Donors Services Named Xerox 2016 In-Plant Hero

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (PRWEB) September 15, 2016

Xerox has named an employee at Compassion International, a Colorado Springs-based global child development ministry, one of its 2016 In-Plant Heroes. This distinction recognizes Compassion's director of sponsor and donor services, Michael Slanco, and his in-plant reproduction team for its innovative use of Xerox's digital printing and cross-media technology to support Compassion's mission of rescuing children from extreme poverty worldwide.

"Compassion values print and technology as an enabler to accommodate its objective of releasing millions of children from poverty," says Rob Piersielak, director of production line of business for Xerox. "Compassion's in-plant reproduction center is in the top echelon of in-plants in the country. Michael's team goes above and beyond to integrate the organization's mission with the Xerox technology they have and its capabilities."

Using Xerox tools and technology, such as XMPie, Compassion's in-house reproduction center oversaw the end-to-end production of approximately 43.1 million customized print and digital communications pieces each year. These pieces include child letters, sponsor welcome packets, letter-writing stationery, child updates and birthday cards. Each piece is customized for one of Compassion's more than 1 million sponsors or 1.9 million sponsored children.

"Compassion's in-plant facility produces high quality partially because we are so passionate about what we do," said Slanco. "It's the same reason we have an in-house call center and an in-house finance department. But Xerox also allows us to be creative and flexible in our business. XMPie is one of three tools in the world that enables us to provide a single stream of information that parses out what communications we are going to send which way."
