City Startup Labs is closing the entrepreneurial divide in Charlotte with its 2016 Center of Excellence in Charlotte

City Startup Labs is now recruiting new Students and Coaches for Center of Excellence at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC)

City Startup Labs (CSL) announced last fall that it is establishing a Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurial Competency, Innovation and Leadership (CoE) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, in affiliation with Ventureprise*.

The Center of Excellence will continue with the focus initiated by CSL during its 2 year pilot — providing entrepreneurial training to black male milliennials (18-34 yrs). Additionally, the CoE will conduct an intrapreneurial track, designed to deliver a new class of innovators, problem-solvers and leaders to corporate Charlotte and beyond.

The CoE will be starting with its Education Module – one of four available to the participants – on April 22nd in Charlotte. The first three modules sequence students through a curriculum designed to build business acumen on top of a foundation of personal discovery, authenticity and integrity.

City Startup Labs is currently recruiting young black male students, with solid ideas for ventures or possible innovations for their employers, as well as mentor/coaches, who can serve as accountability partners over several months. City Startup Labs, a member of the Charlotte Entrepreneurial Alliance, will continue to maintain partnerships with the Urban League of Central Carolinas (ULCC), Packard Place, Queen City Forward, the SBA and SCORE.
