ANNAPOLIS, MD / ACCESSWIRE / November 19, 2014 / Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. SWET (the "Company"), the inventor of large Solar Wind Downdraft Tower structures capable of producing abundant, inexpensive electricity, today discussed its currently issued patents in response to recent inquiries about the issuance and status, and IP protection strategy.

Below are the Company's currently issued patents, which is also included on the website:

Patent #8120191 Issued 2/21/2012 "Efficient Energy Conversion Devices & Methods"

This patent covers a novel hydraulic system capable of maintaining high efficiency hydraulic to electric conversion under a wide variance of wind speeds, as coupled to a plurality of wind turbines in wind tunnels.

Patent #8,517,662 B2 Issued 8/27/2013 "Atmospheric Energy Extraction Devices & Methods"

This patent covers a structure for producing electricity, specifically a Tower capable of adding moisture at the top of the structure to hot-dry air so as to generate a downdraft of wind within the interior of the Tower, vanes coupled to the exterior of the Tower that at least partially define a plurality of elongated pockets to the exterior of the Tower, and flaps located to redirect the incident wind downwards into tunnels to convert wind to electricity.

This patent enhances and broadens previously issued Patent #8120191

Patent #8,727,698 B1 Issued 5/20/2014 "Atmospheric Energy Extraction Devices & Methods"

This patent claims are targeted to represent the advantages of the new Tower structural shape, the configuration of the Tower walls, their composition as well as the wall thicknesses for a given height, along with more efficient construction methodology and enhanced wind force resistance over prior Tower designs.

Stephen Sadle, Chief Operating Officer of Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc. stated, "From the inception of our Company, one of our core objectives has always been to protect the technology that is essential to our success. After over a year and a half of vetting the project's science, and evaluating alternative adaptations for the technology, our studies have proven that the current Tower model can be constructed by using conventional cost effective techniques, while generating the highest power output for the San Luis, AZ site. It is anticipated that additional patents will be filed by the Company as we continue to progress with our business plan and project development for the AZ Tower project."

Mr. Sadle added, "Our internal team, key consultants and patent attorneys have collaborated to accurately depict the Tower structure, its power drive systems and componentry, as well as support systems, which have resulted in writing what we believe to be effective and defendable patents. Where desirable we have also filed for international patent protection.

While we believe patent protection is essential, we hold significant internal knowledge, algorithms, and software essential to the operations of the Tower, which we consider "trade secrets. We are staunchly committed to the protection of those as well as our patentable technology so that we can effectively and strategically build our energy Tower projects, and better facilitate the global licensing of our Tower technology."

About Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc.:

Founded in 2010, Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc., and its wholly owned commercializing subsidiary, Solar Wind Energy, Inc., is the inventor of the patented Solar Wind Downdraft Tower, which uses state of the art technologies and construction systems to produce abundant, inexpensive electricity, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and the Energy Generation Calculator software which can calculate and predict energy production of a Tower given a site's local weather data. The Company secured the site for its first Tower project in the U.S. in the City of San Luis, Arizona which may be ready for operation as soon as 2018. Under the most recent design specifications, the first Tower in San Luis, Arizona has a design capacity on an hourly basis of up to 1,250 megawatt hours, gross. The Company is also focused on licensing its development know-how and establishing partnerships at home and abroad to propagate Tower development projects in return for licensing fees for territories, development fees during construction, and recurring royalty fees based on the actual kilowatt hours produced by the Tower. Solar Wind Energy has assembled a team of experienced business professionals, engineering and scientific consultants with the proven ability to bring this solution to market.

The Company's core objective and focus is to become a leading enabler of clean, efficient renewable energy to world communities, at a reasonable cost, without the destructive residuals of fossil fuels, while continuing to generate innovative technological solutions to meet tomorrow's electrical power needs. Solar Wind Energy has filed and been issued patents that the Company believes will further enhance this potentially revolutionary technology. Solar Wind Energy Tower, Inc., based in Annapolis, MD, is traded on the OTCQB under the symbol "SWET."
