Enpar Appoints Dr. Anthony Tether to the Company's Advisor Committee

Guelph, Ontario / ACCESSWIRE / September 17, 2014 / The Board of Directors ("the Board") of ENPAR Technologies Inc. ("ENPAR" or "the Company" or "the Corporation") is extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Anthony J. Tether has joined the company as Technical Advisor, effective immediately.

Dr. Anthony J. Tether was Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from 2001 to his retirement in 2009. DARPA is the principal Agency within the U.S. Department of Defense for research, development, and demonstration of concepts, devices, and systems that provide highly advanced new technology capabilities. As Director, Dr. Tether was responsible for management of the Agency's projects for high-payoff, innovative research and development.

 

In 2009, Dr. Tether re-formed The Sequoia Group (TSG), which serves U.S. government and industrial clients. The Sequoia Group provides program management and strategy development services to government and industry. He is on several Advisory and Corporate Boards, and is a Distinguished Fellow with the Council on Competitiveness located in Washington, D.C.

From 1996 to 2001, Dr. Tether held the position of Chief Executive Officer and President of The Sequoia Group, which he founded in 1996. From 1994 to 1996, Dr. Tether served as Chief Executive Officer for Dynamics Technology Inc. From 1992 to 1994, he was Vice President of Science Applications International Corporation's (SAIC) Advanced Technology Sector, and then Vice President and General Manager for Range Systems at SAIC. Prior to this, he spent six years as Vice President for Technology and Advanced Development at Ford Aerospace Corp., acquired by Loral Corporation during that period.

He also held positions in the U.S. Department of Defense, serving as Director of DARPA's Strategic Technology Office from 1982 through 1986, and as Director of National Intelligence in the Office of the Secretary of Defense from 1978 to 1982. He served as Vice President of Systems Control Inc., a company he helped start after receiving his Ph.D., where he applied stochastic estimation and control theory to military and commercial problems with concentration on development of algorithms to perform real-time resource allocation and control.

Dr. Tether has served on U.S. Army, Navy and Defense Science Boards, and on the Office of National Drug Control Policy Research and Development Committee. He is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow for leadership in the advancement of commercial and defense technologies, and listed in several Who's Who publications.

In 1986, Director of Central Intelligence Bill Casey honored him with the National Intelligence Medal and Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger with the Department of Defense Civilian Meritorious Service Medal respectively. In 2009, Secretary of Defense Gates honored him with the Department of Defense Outstanding Public Service Medal. In 2013, he was awarded the AIAA Aerospace Communications Award for aerospace communication contributions.

Dr. Tether received a Bachelor's of Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

The Board of Directors of the Company has granted to Dr. Tether 250,000 incentive stock options to acquire common shares at an exercise price of $0.10. The options will be vested at six month intervals over a period of eighteen months with an exercise termination date of five years from the date of grant.
