BOSTON, July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance Municipal Bond Fund (NYSE MKT: EIM) (the "Fund"), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three and six months ended March 31, 2014.  The Fund's fiscal year ends on September 30, 2014.

For the three months ended March 31, 2014, the Fund had net investment income of $13,291,898 ($0.195 per share).  For the six months ended March 31, 2014, the Fund had net investment income of $26,768,752 ($0.393 per share).  In comparison, for the three months ended March 31, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $12,918,316 ($0.189 per share).  For the six months ended March 31, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $26,131,879 ($0.383 per share). 

Net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended March 31, 2014 were $53,871,202 ($0.782 per share).  Net realized and unrealized gains for the six months ended March 31, 2014 were $45,535,165 ($0.660 per share).  In comparison, net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended March 31, 2013 were $13,262,559 ($0.196 per share).  Net realized and unrealized losses for the six months ended March 31, 2013 were $13,524,861 ($0.200 per share).

On March 31, 2014, net assets of the Fund were $883,641,922. The net asset value per share on March 31, 2014 was $12.96 based on 68,168,250 shares outstanding.  In comparison, on March 31, 2013, net assets of the Fund were $947,385,506. The net asset value per share on March 31, 2013 was $13.90 based on 68,168,250 shares outstanding.
