Stowe, Vermont's Yellow Turtle celebrates silver anniversary.
Stowe, Vermont (PRWEB) February 04, 2013
Stowe, Vermont's specialty children's clothing store, Yellow Turtle, is proud to announce that it is celebrating its 25th year in business.
“Area kids have literally grown up with Yellow Turtle and are now outfitting their own kids in our fashions and outerwear,” notes owner Lisa Hunt. “They came to trust Yellow Turtle for the best quality brands at the fairest prices. It's so nice to see the next generation crossing our physical and digital threshold now for their own children.”
The business began in Stowe in 1969, quickly becoming recognized for its unique selection of kids fashions, as well as quality kids ski clothes. After changing hands once, Lisa Hunt of Morrisville, Vermont, purchased the children's specialty shop in January 1988.
Today, 25 years later, Yellow Turtle is physically located on the Mountain Road in Stowe, but is now also home to two well-acclaimed web sites. An early adopter of global retailing through the Internet, Yellow Turtle launched its first web site, http://www.yellow-turtle.com, in 2001, featuring its full range of merchandise. In 2006 they launched its second site, http://www.kidskiandrain.com, a web site that focuses solely on kids outerwear and rainwear.
The Yellow Turtle web site sells fashions and outerwear for children of all ages. Kidskiandrain.com features children's rainwear and a large selection of kids ski jackets, pants, suits and more for kids of all ages from leading brands such as Obermeyer kids, Patagonia, Spyder, SmartWool, Hatley, Kidorable and others. Buyers for the store look for rugged durability and new technologies that will keep kids, from infancy to the teenage years, warm and dry.
“Being in a ski town, you know what works for kids on and off the slopes,” adds Hunt. “We carry brands that are totally functional but also fun, which is what parents and kids want. And, now with our Web presence, kids from everywhere can grow up with our ski clothes, rainwear, and unique selection of kids fashions.”
