On December 6, 2012, Syracuse University College of Law named Michael A. Bottar to its Board of Advisors.

Bottar is a graduate of Colgate University and a summa cum laude graduate of Syracuse University College of Law where he is an adjunct professor and author of the civil practice chapter of the Syracuse Law Review's Survey of New York Law.

Bottar is a partner with Bottar Leone, PLLC, a team of Syracuse personal injury lawyers prosecuting medical malpractice, birth injury, product liability, construction accident, wrongful death and other complex personal injury cases. At the Firm, Bottar's results-driven practice centers around hypoxic, ischemic and traumatic brain injuries, nerve injury, misdiagnosis, and mass tort cases including common carrier accidents and medical device recalls. He is a member of the board of directors of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and, in connection with the Academy, lectures regularly throughout the State on tort and trial-related topics. While in law school, Bottar was a member and executive editor of the Syracuse Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. Prior to joining Bottar Leone, PLLC, he was a litigation associate with the New York City office of White & Case, LLP, and the Syracuse office of Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC.
