Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive at Heritage Woods of Dwight

The American Red Cross is holding a Blood Drive on Jan. 10 at Heritage Woods of Dwight, a BMA affordable assisted living community in Dwight, Illinois. The community serves seniors of all incomes, including those on Medicaid.

The American Red Cross will be holding a Blood Drive at Heritage Woods of Dwight from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10.

The BMA affordable assisted living community located at 701 E. Mazon in Dwight, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes, including those on Medicaid, who need some help to maintain their independence.

"Your donation will provide life saving blood for those in need," says Peg Spear, Director of Marketing for Heritage Woods of Dwight. "Come and give the Gift of Life."

"The community provides older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home," says Spear.

Residents live in private apartments and receive the personal assistance and help with medications they need.

Each of the apartments features a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, and an emergency alert system.

Certified nursing assistants on on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.

"Our focus is on providing love, compassion and dignity in addition to care and asssitance," says Spear. "Our emphasis is on helping residents achieve and maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible."

Heritage Woods of Dwight is certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
