New Shenandoah Valley Golf Package - One of the Many Highlights for Shenvalee Golf Resort's 2012 Season

It's official - Golfers love Shenvalee Resort, and 2012 was another year that proved that. The new Virginia golf packages, numerous charitable fundraisers and family golf all contributed a successful year.

New Market, VA (PRWEB) January 04, 2013

Shenvalee was voted the 2012 Best Golf Course in the Shenandoah Valley by the readers of Virginia Living Magazine and one of the best golf courses in Virginia. Anyone who played there knows why. Shenvalee is a fun course, always in good shape, the greens roll great and this Mountain View golf course is spectacular. Shenvalee offers 27 holes of golf and is only 90 minutes from Washington DC. Many guests visit a couple of weekends each summer viewing it as a perfect Virginia golf getaway.

Shenvalee is great for tournaments and hosted many in 2012 including the annual fundraising event for the Ronald McDonald House of DC. After golf, Shenvalee prepares lunch for all of the guests in their Lodge Restaurant – BBQ pork, coleslaw, all the good stuff. Shenvalee hosted over 12 fundraising events in 2012 generating funds needed to help various charitable organizations, local schools and churches.

Also in 2012, Shenvalee introduced the Shenandoah Valley Golf Package, partnering with 5 other Shenandoah Valley golf courses. Operations Manager, Karl Doller said, “Although the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia is home to some of the most picturesque and finest courses on the East Coast, there are limited ways for golfers to conveniently stay and play the Shenandoah Valley.” Shenvalee decided to fill that void with their newest package offering. Doller stated, “We give golfers the flexibility of staying one to five nights, golfing on two to six different courses. Shenvalee is centrally located to our partner courses and does all of the heavy lifting to arrange a fully loaded Virginia golf package getaway. We've really noticed a surge in our groups from Canada since we started this program.”

A golf package group leader from Northern Virginia was quoted, “Our group of 32 went there for the first time this year. We stayed at Shenvalee but you can choose to play five other courses throughout the Shenandoah Valley. And at no additional cost to us! They even made our tee times at the other courses. We made Shenvalee our ‘home base' where we ate breakfast, which was also included in the package, enjoyed home-cooked meals and after our golf we relaxed with some additional ‘rounds' in the Sports Bar. Can't beat it!”

Shenvalee is continually trying to make their guest's stay more comfortable. In 2012 they systematically started remodeling their motel rooms hoping to become one of the most popular vacation rentals in the Luray, Va area. Shenvalee Motel has been around for a while, but their rooms are nothing like what you might expect. They are fresh, clean, and comfortable. One guest said, “Shenvalee Motel has been great to me and my golf buddies, but my wife even enjoys staying there, and she's a hotel snob. Okay, don't tell her I told you that. I've been coming to this place for years and will for many years to come.”

One guest said, “Driving into Shenvalee is like coming home. We've been coming here every year for 15 years now. Everyone here is happy to see us. It really is one big family. Everyone smiles, and they go above and beyond to help you. From the ladies at the front desk checking us in, to the starters out on the course, they give us great service. Our group is a girls only group, and we love it at Shenvalee. I don't know how they get everyone to live in an attitude of service, but they do. It's why we keep coming back!” Doller said that some groups have been coming to Shenvalee for 25, 35 and even 40 years.

Shenvalee enhanced several local golf programs as well in 2012. One of the most popular is Family Golf. “We go for the Family Golf on Tuesday evenings. From 6pm I can take my 9 year-old daughter out and it's free to walk 9 holes. It's awesome” said a member from Luray, VA. “She is ready to go before I get home from work. Sometimes we only play two or three holes, but that's quality time with her, and I'm introducing her to a game I love and that she can play her entire life. Shenvalee is good for junior golf.”

Shenvalee truly had a remarkable 2012. Shenvalee's website has all of the golf package information, seasonal golf specials and local golf event info, http://www.shenvalee.com. Shenvalee will also be attending the following North Coast Golf Show locations in 2013:

Baltimore, MD - January 11th to 13th, Chantilly, VA DC - February 1st to 3rd and Pittsburgh, PA - March 8th to 10th
