It's been a busy year in 2012 for Sheado.net, creators of Furdiburb, a combination of virtual pet, puzzle, and adventure game. During the year, the team released many updates for players to enjoy including the farming update which contained an interesting puzzle involving pesky gophers and giant flowers, the firefly game update that put Furdiburb players to the test with very difficult shmup-inspired action, and the major virtual pet features update which allowed Furdi to grow to a much older stage.

The biggest update, however, was version 1.0 with the spirit puzzle that propelled the game out of beta and into full game status. "We're about as indie as it gets and every milestone for us has taken a lot of effort and team work, so the release of version 1.0 was a huge event for us," commented Danny Ata, artist. "When people started unlocking those scenes, fanmail started trickling in with reports of people crying during some of the scenes. We made people cry? Awesome! It's good to know the game and storyline can communicate with people like that."

Once out of beta, the creators evaluated porting the game onto different platforms and ported it to NOOK Family of Devices by Barnes & Noble. "Furdiburb looks awesome on those large, vibrant screens," commented Chad Ata, lead developer. Along with software updates and ports, the team supplemented their releases with Furdiburb's original soundtrack album, free wallpapers, walkthrough videos for stumped players, and a complete re-design to the company's store page.

Sheado.net has also achieved a milestone of accumulating over 50,000 Facebook fans for the virtual pet as well as surpassing 1.5 million downloads in Google Play. Furdiburb was also entered into the Independent Games Festival for 2013 and submitted to Steam's Greenlight to gauge the public's receptiveness of having the game on the computer.

What's in the horizon for the new year? Sheado.net is planning to port Furdiburb the virtual pet to Amazon's Kindle and iOS devices.
