Fairfield Theatre Company celebrates the New Year with '90s Alternative Post-Grunge bands The Gin Blossoms, Ed Kowalczyk of Live, and Sixpence None the Richer, at StageOne.
Fairfield, CT (PRWEB) January 04, 2013
Did the holidays get you down? Are you ready to rock the New Year finally? Come down to Fairfield Theatre Company this January and February as FTC welcome '90s iconic post-grunge, alternative bands The Gin Blossoms, Ed Kowlczyk (lead singer of Live), and Sixpence None the Richer, for three legendary shows that cannot be missed.
More than two decades after making the crossover from college radio idols to multi-platinum album sellers, the Gin Blossoms are still one of the top pop, rock, post-grunge, alternative bands heard on the radio and on the Billboard charts today. Best known for their mega hits including “Hey Jealousy,” “Found Out About You, "Til I Hear It From You,” and “Allison Road” the Gin Blossoms depict the '90's in an unforgettable way. After their hugely celebrated 34 cities Summerland Tour in 2012, the Gin Blossoms look forward to entertaining audiences around the world in 2013 with a stop at the intimate StageOne to introduce the audience to material from a new album coming out next summer.
In addition to the Gin Blossoms, Ed Kowalczyk, widely known as the former lead singer and songwriter for the rock band LIVE, invites you to join him as he opens the next chapter of his already illustrious career with an acoustic intimate evening at StageOne. Touring in support of his latest EP The Garden, which features 5 new original tracks and remixes, fans of the band Live are in for a treat, as the night will consist of Ed performing countless songs from the entire Live catalog as well as songs from his first solo album, Alive, released in 2010.
Closing out this throwback of post grunge alternative '90's bands will be the Austin based band Sixpence the Richer, who had several hit singles including “Kiss Me”, “There She Goes”, “Don't Dream It's Over”, and “Breathe Your Name”. Their Grammy nominated songs have appeared on countless soundtracks worldwide and now come to StageOne to shake things up in support of their newest album Lost in Transition. The album is a reminder of the struggles and uncertainty the band has had endured over the past few years after disbanding, before they ultimately found their way back together again. As Matt Slocum says, “It's about things that have happened in our lives recently, really big events on a personal and musical level that we had to transition through.”
