New book identifies 13 spiritual gifts from Scripture.
Minnetonka, MN (PRWEB) January 04, 2013
Robert D. Corey has mined his more than 40 years of experience in ministry to present his new book “Corey's Mastering Spiritual Gifts: Leader's Manual and Pupil's Manual” (published by CrossBooks). In it, he helps believers to identify, understand and use the spiritual gifts in their lives.
“Corey's Mastering Spiritual Gifts” begins by showing readers where the Bible talks about each spiritual gift, then explains why only 13 spiritual gifts are taught. It carefully explains each gift's strengths and weaknesses, goes over reasons why spiritual gifts may not be working for a Christian, and gives a way for readers in study groups to discover their spiritual gifts.
An excerpt from “Corey's Mastering Spiritual Gifts”:
“The key objectives of this study are to show which gifts are active in the church today, describe those gifts in the context of their characteristics and abuses, and provide each person an opportunity to begin identifying and using his or her gift or gifts. I made every effort to avoid theological arguments and rationales for the spiritual gifts. The gifts appear simply in a clear-cut, easy-to-use, transferable, and understandable way.”
Corey has seen firsthand the need for his book. “Most of the church today only pays lip-service to Spiritual Gifts,” he says. “I'm trusting God that this book will turn out to be a very effective tool in helping people in small groups discover and use their Spiritual Gifts.”
