Twenty-five year veteran of the corrections industry to serve as assistant warden at 600 bed facility

CCA, America's leader in partnership corrections, announces the hire of James Lopez as assistant warden at New Mexico Women's Correctional Facility in Grants, New Mexico. Lopez will work alongside warden Arlene Hickson and help oversee a staff of over 100 employees.

Lopez has worked in corrections for the state of New Mexico for over twenty-five years. Most recently, he served as warden at the Penitentiary of New Mexico in Santa Fe. Prior to serving as warden, Lopez was deputy warden of operations at Western New Mexico Correctional Facility in Grants, New Mexico.
When asked what the driving force has been throughout his successful career in corrections, Lopez touts education as a leading priority in his work.
"My passion has been teaching the staff and general population about our service in providing public safety," said Lopez. "The work that we do for the community makes a real difference."
Lopez and his family reside in Milan, New Mexico. He and his wife, Martha, have four children and three grandchildren.
