Conference to Focus on Future of Performance Measurement

Registration for NQF's 2013 Annual Conference (http://ow.ly/gu8Xl) is now open. The conference, “The Next Decade of Performance Measurement: Meeting the Needs of a Rapidly Changing Healthcare System,” will take place March 7-8, 2013 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

Health care policy and delivery have changed considerably in the ten years since NQF endorsed its first performance measures, and the American healthcare system is at a crossroads. This year's conference will focus on the future of performance measurement, capturing the experiences of those who contribute to each domain. This includes health care providers, the federal government, state Medicaid agencies, consumers, patients and their caregivers, employers that purchase health care benefits on behalf of their employees, and coalitions and others in local communities.

Specific interactive sessions will focus on how the quality community can work together to:

•     fill measure gaps quickly and in a prioritized way;
•     use the same measures whenever possible to make measurement more efficient and less burdensome;
•     get insight and feedback from those that use measures in the field to develop a more formal measure use feedback system;
•     make measurement information easier to access and understand; and
•     accelerate initial efforts to support the transition to eMeasures.
