Merseytravel's winter Customer Forums will be held across the region between 14 - 18 January, giving people from across Merseyside the opportunity to air their views on public transport.
(PRWEB UK) 2 January 2013
Each of the forums, held in Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral, give people the chance to meet local councillors, representatives from Merseytravel, The British Transport Police and transport operators including Arriva, Stagecoach, Northern Rail and Merseyrail. There will also be ‘Travel Surgeries' at each event, offering one to one advice and information.
In particular the January forums are themed around addressing antisocial behaviour, looking at a year in the life of the TravelSafe initiative - Merseytravel's partnership between public transport operators, Merseyside Police, British Transport Police and other key stakeholders - to create and maintain a public transport system where passengers can travel safely and without fear.
Merseytravel Chair, Councillor Liam Robinson, said: “Antisocial behaviour is a subject that concerns a lot of the travelling public and this round of forums will give people an opportunity to discuss the matter with operators and ourselves.
“We've been able to act upon a number of requests from previous Customer Forums and the next forum will give us the opportunity to feed back directly to those concerned. An example of what's already been achieved, through working in partnership with Huyton Transport, is the introduction of an hourly service calling at Springwood Crematorium in South Liverpool.”
A full schedule of the Customer Forums will be posted on the Merseytravel website http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk phone 0151 330 1200 email forums (at) merseytravel (dot) gov (dot) uk
