Pleasant Password Server, developed by Pleasant Solutions, is the only solution that provides multi-user password management with KeePass, the popular and trusted password safe. Enterprise Edition now takes management capabilities to the next level, while still keeping it as a cost effective solution for any sized business.

Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA (PRWEB) January 02, 2013

Pleasant Solutions announces the release of Enterprise Edition for Pleasant Password Server, the multi-user password management software for KeePass.

Mismanagement of passwords on virtually every device within a company is one of today's biggest IT security risks. Yet many companies choose to do nothing, as they think this is a big company problem and don't see it as a security risk that they should be worried about.

The reality is that any company using passwords to access privileged information like client records, employee details, banking, or any company secrets, is at possible risk of attack. Employees often use the same or similar passwords as the ones they use for their social media, personal services (ex. utilities) and banking access. It does not take much effort for professional hackers to figure this stuff out, allowing them easy access to your supposedly secured records.

Establishing a password policy, and having a management solution that allows for implementation and enforcement, is what every company needs. There are many solutions available, but most are very expensive and too complex. That is why Pleasant Solutions developed Pleasant Password Server with the open source KeePass program. The software is the “Right Sized” solution which means it is available at a very reasonable price.

Enterprise Edition is the latest addition to Pleasant Password Server. Based on client research, Enterprise Edition was designed as a module that adds the most sought-after new administrative functions, over and above the base product. It is perfect for companies requiring greater control in setting and enforcing their password policies, while still remaining economical.

Functions included in the Enterprise Edition are:

  • Active Directory / LDAP – makes it easy to import users and authenticate them against the server they are imported from
  • Access Levels – allows the administrator to create, edit and assign any customized access levels (ex. read only)
  • Client Configuration – set KeePass client configurations to apply rules and then assign them to specific users
  • Logging – provides a detailed list of all user activity and allows filtering for auditing

Also, with the latest release, the base version of Pleasant Password Server now has a Web Client. This is a tremendous feature that allows users to also have access to their passwords through the internet, making it possible for use outside the office and through any operating system. So no longer are the client KeePass users limited to their downloaded version on their Windows based PC's.

“We are very pleased to offer the Enterprise Edition to our current customers,” said Richard Kemp, Director of Marketing for Pleasant Solutions. “However, just as important for us is that corporate managers begin to recognize the importance of password management, and are putting our solution on their radar. Enterprise Edition makes Pleasant Password Server a robust solution, and still the only software that allows KeePass to be used for enterprise password management.”

The Enterprise Edition is included in the demo version of Pleasant Password Server. The easiest way to experience all the available functions is to download it and give it a try.
