‘Level B' addition will improve skills of young readers with advanced tools, including ‘intelligent questions'
Beaumont, CA (PRWEB) January 02, 2013
When Tammy Bennecke set out to create a revolutionary new way to help young readers struggling with basic skills gain comprehension, she was never content to settle—or stop—building the program. So, despite the success of “Red Apple Reading Level A”—an online reading program to help young learners gain phonics and sight word skills using interactivity and fun videos and games—she knew her work was not over. That's why Bennecke is proud to announce the program's unveiling of “Level B,” the next step in Red Apple Reading's engaging, results-driven philosophy that reading can be fun, and that struggling readers can advance their reading skills with the program's techniques.
Red Apple Reading's “Level B,” scheduled to be unveiled late this spring, will build on the program's current component (“Level A”). Using enhanced graphics, hand-drawn backgrounds, and a fun, new “beach” theme, the program will garner the attention of children in a whole new way. Level B will teach advanced phonics concepts, more sight words, vocabulary and comprehension skills, and will include “intelligent questions” that vary automatically in difficulty based on the individual child's ability. The opportunity for increased reading retention is virtually limitless.
When asked what she was most excited about with this new program Bennecke shared, “We are making a lot of improvements based on feedback from parents, teachers, and children who have used Level A. With a new beach theme, we get to create all new characters, videos, and backgrounds as well. That, combined with the dynamic learning of ‘intelligent questions,' will greatly enhance the child's experience and rate of learning.”
Bennecke's plans for “Level B” have been in mind for a long time, she says. As a former educator who watched students in the elementary grades struggle to grasp essential phonics and comprehension skills, Bennecke knows that “Level B” is the perfect next step.
“So many older children have the basics, but they have gaps in their learning on the more advanced phonics skills,” Bennecke said. “This new program is designed to close those gaps.”
In addition to the new program online, Red Apple Reading also plans to offer separate downloadable apps that can be used on tablets and smartphones. As always, Red Apple Reading's programs don't require software for access—just a Wi-Fi connection and a user login—and off a child can go, into the world of expanded reading skills.
But don't expect Bennecke to stop building on the success—and potential—for Red Apple Reading to help young readers any time soon. She already has plans for a pre-Kindergarten level that will focus on reading readiness skills, and one day hopes to expand to Spelling, Grammar, and even Mathematics.
“The goal is to give a solid foundation for reading to every child who goes through the program,” Bennecke said. “The more children we help, the better!”
