On January 1, 2012, debt collection agency Rapid Recovery Solution commented on a Daily Journal article by Patsy R. Brumfield, regarding Lee County pushing to collect debts on county court fees.
According to the Daily Journal article, “A firm to collect back-debts for garbage or justice court fees got Lee County's approval Monday.” The article states that Lee County is looking to collect roughly $1million in long overdue fees and fines from Lee County Justice Court.
According to the article, most people wait to pay their garbage bills when they receive their tags, and the problem was that they were going after 30 day old debts and not year old ones. The article states that the collection firm, during a presentation, got Lee County supervisors interest in the collection efforts, and recently got the OK to go ahead a collect possibly $1million.
