PoCo Woman Is Canada's First Lotto 6/49 Millionaire of 2013
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 4, 2013) - A Port Coquitlam woman now has the proud distinction of being Canada's first millionaire of 2013.
Jessica Williams matched 6/6 numbers on the very first Lotto 6/49 draw of the year to win the $3,463,163.60 jackpot.
"I had been out grocery shopping on New Year's Day when I bought my ticket," explained Williams. "Like everybody else, I've always hoped and prayed that I would win big one day."
Williams discovered the win after filling her car at the gas station while heading back to work on the morning of January 3.
"Immediately after leaving the gas station I just sat in my car and cried," described Williams. "I don't even remember yesterday. I'm still numb."
The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart in Coquitlam.
"All I've ever wanted is to own my own place and have my very own car," added Williams. "I can't wait to go shopping." In addition to buying a condo, Williams plans to help family and do some travelling.
Lotto 6/49 can be played at all Lotto retailers and Lotto Express locations or online at PlayNow.com, with tickets available for sale until 6:00 p.m. (PT) on draw days. Winning numbers and group release forms can be found online at bclc.com.
