KSEE-TV to Team with Electronic Recyclers International for Series of E-Waste Collection Events

Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), the nation's leading recycler of electronic waste, will once again team with KSEE-TV Channel 24, the Central Valley's News Station and Fresno NBC affiliate, to provide a series of four free electronic waste recycling events for local residents.

These four “Recyclathon” events will take place once per quarter – on February 23rd, May 4th, August 24th, and November 9th. Each of the four events will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will take place at ERI headquarters on 2860 S. East Avenue in Fresno. The four special events will enable consumers to drop off unwanted computer monitors, televisions and other unwanted electronic items for free.

KSEE-TV and ERI have designed the Recyclathon events to be a winning situation for everyone – Central Valley consumers can conveniently and safely dispose of household electronics, while potentially harmful electronic by-products are responsibly recycled and not entering landfills or being shipped elsewhere. In its Fresno facility, ERI houses the world's most efficient shredding technology for the destruction of e-waste, including an industry-leading “certified destruction” system for personal and professional data.

“With these events, we felt it made sense to team with ERI – not only are they the biggest and most efficient electronic recyclers in the country, they happen to be right here in Fresno,” said Matthew Rosenfeld, KSEE-TV's President and General Manager. “We're also excited to have this opportunity to help provide our viewers with a convenient place to unload their old TV sets and computers they don't want, as well as other unwanted electronics, while helping the environment at the same time. We look forward to some great turnouts!”

“We're extremely proud to be involved in this special series of recycling programs alongside our excellent, forward-thinking partners, KSEE-TV,” said John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI. “Together with KSEE, we are helping the good people of Fresno become more environmentally responsible and offering them a convenient opportunity to safely dispose of their old electronic junk at the same time.”

The Recyclathon events will be promoted on KSEE-TV and will allow locals to drop off virtually anything with a cord – from computer monitors and televisions to faxes, copiers, printers and computer towers.
