The Boston Product Management Association (BPMA) will host a gala event introducing the expansion of its programming on Jan. 17 at the Boston Museum of Science. The evening includes networking; a sit-down dinner; an introduction of the BPMA's 2013 programming by co-founder Michael Solerno; and a keynote presentation by the CMO of Hubspot, Mike Volpe.
Mike Volpe, a leading figure in the inbound and social media marketing industry, will speak on his vision of how the role of product professionals will change with the pace of innovation, and changes in customer expectations and market focus.
“Change is inevitable and it is up to product managers and marketers to manage the change. The various programs organized by BPMA help business professionals to improve their skills to keep up with the changes in their industries,” states Volpe. “I am thrilled to be part of the BPMA's expanded programming for 2013.”
The BPMA, founded in 2001, has continuously offered monthly professional development and networking events to product professionals from marketers and designers to engineers and executives. In 2013, their programming calendar will include half-day workshops, executive breakfasts and an increased number of informal networking meetings to help business professionals in Greater Boston Area further refine their skills.
“In the past year, our board and volunteers have worked diligently to meet the needs of the product community,” said Sarela Bliman-Cohen, BPMA president. “Our members asked for a more diverse set of events and that is what we have planned for the coming year. This gala is our way of expanding the BPMA's reach, and getting everyone as excited as we are about the changes.”
In addition, the BPMA plans to introduce a new range of membership levels, including corporate and academic institution memberships, which will allow students and employees at the member-organizations to take advantage of the BPMA's professional development opportunities.
The BPMA will also introduce its newest Platinum-level sponsors on Jan. 17, among whom are EMC and Proficientz.
